HOSHI RC Cars in India: N416, N516, N517 Frenzy & N518 Raptor II Explained

HOSHI is the brand serious bashers whisper about when the conversation turns to speed-per-rupee. It doesn't spend money on licensed bodies or glossy marketing — it spends it on motors, ESCs and metal drivetrain parts, then prices the result aggressively. The range is compact and easy to understand: two brushed all-rounders and a brushless family that climbs all the way to a 100 km/h 1:8 flagship.

HOSHI N416 — The Entry Point

The N416 is a 1:16 4WD monster truck built for first-timers who want a real hobby-grade machine rather than a toy. It does 33+ km/h, shrugs off splashes and dust, and — critically — is tough enough to survive the learning curve. If you're buying a first proper RC for a teenager or for yourself, this is the HOSHI to start with.

HOSHI N516 — Dual-Motor Muscle

The N516 steps up to 1:10 scale with an unusual party trick: two motors driving its 4WD system, good for 46+ km/h. It also carries an IPX6 water-resistance rating, which in practice means puddles, wet grass and monsoon-season bashing are all fair game. It's the pick for drivers who want big-truck presence without brushless-tier pricing.

The N517 Frenzy Family — One Platform, Four Personalities

The Frenzy is where HOSHI goes brushless, and it's cleverly done: one proven 1:12 4WD platform, four distinct body-and-setup configurations, all in the 70 km/h class:

  • N517 Frenzy — the original monster truck, brushless on 3S. The default choice.
  • N517A — the truggy, running dual 3S packs and a FlySky radio for longer, harder sessions.
  • N517B — the short course truck, with a carbon-fibre chassis plate for stiffness and durability.
  • N517C — the buggy, dual 3S with a FlySky FS-G4P radio, the most track-focused of the four.

Because they share a platform, spares interchange freely — a genuinely underrated advantage when you're running a car hard.

HOSHI N518 Raptor II — The Flagship

The N518 Raptor II is HOSHI's statement piece: a 1:8 4WD monster truck with a 3670-size 2500KV brushless motor and 120A ESC, capable of 100+ km/h. At this level you're in genuine race-electronics territory, and the Raptor II undercuts the established 1:8 names by a wide margin. It's the car for experienced drivers who already know what triple-digit speed demands.
